Artist Statement
I create digital illustrations that seek to convey the intricacies of raw human emotion. I am heavily inspired by Japanese animation and graphic novels, so my digital illustrations are mostly centralized around human subjects, as they are my specialty. By placing more focus on facial expressions, body language, and lighting utilizing a combination of textured brushes and blend mode layers, I display the mood of the artwork in order to evoke specific emotions from the viewer.
The tools I use to design my illustrations are the 10.5 inch iPad Pro (2nd generation) and Apple Pencil (1st generation). The digital arts software I primarily use is Procreate.

"Crush" is a 30-second frame-by-frame animation that depicts the stifling of LGBTQ+ youths. I storyboarded and animated this animation in Procreate and added all of the sounds on iMovie after processing them in Audacity.
